Business Continuity – Buying Solutions
Evolve where engaged by Buying Solutions, the government procurement agency, on a project to develop and implement a Business Continuity Management System (CMS) aligned to the British Standard (BS) 25999. The project covering all aspects of the BCM Lifecycle including; BC Policy development, BC M training for representatives from each management team responsible for input into the planning stages, collation of the business impact analysis information into a single Corporate critical activity summary, BC Strategy development, and development of plans covering incident and business continuity management at both sites with an overarching Corporate BC Plan. Throughout the process there was close consultation with key corporate services such as, Estates, HR and IT Services, as well external 3rd party suppliers.
Throughout the project there has been a high level of client participation enabling skills transfer to ensure that there is residual knowledge for maintaining the BCMS via the BCM programme.
All project deliverables were reviewed and authorised through the Buying Solutions BC Strategy Team and Enabling Board.
To date the project has met the tight timelines despite the upheavals of a General Election, organisational change and the subsequent changes of staff in key BC roles. The final piece to the project will be a BC Plan validation exercise involving representatives from the sites and corporate level. The exercise will mark the official end of the project.
